The volcano, restaurante, towns, crazy bridges, wow...

On the plane, 1/3 of the way on our journey!
The Arenal volcano, WOW isn't it a beauty!

We were absolutely starved and found a great restaurante

This single lane bridge was one of many single lane bridges along our 4 hour twisty turney ride through the jungle

A town that we passed through, rustic yes.. but very clean
Our day began at 3am to head to O'hare... the flight went off without a hitch to Ft. Lauderdale.  From Ft. Lauderdale we flew to Costa Rica... total flight time was about 7 hours.  We got our cars and headed out onto a crowded crazy road in San Jose, CR - a big city.  We had lunch at the fist restaurant that looked safe and were thrilled and re-charged after having lunch.  Onward we travelled into the unknown direction and land of Costa Rica.  The hills and green landscape are breathtaking as we trevelled along a 2 lane road.  What's that?  A strange road sign that looks like legs with knees bent in...what it means, we found out quickly - a one lane bridge ahead.  Sounds simple, but with traffic travelling at a good clip around and around bends and switchbacks up and down hill in the thick jungle...you so had to be aware to not get into trouble.  All we could think about was having a cold, locally bottled beverage upon our arrival to our villa.  We arrived in the dark, down a tunnel of a road, being in the jungle and all to our Villa Encantada - the best sight you could imagine after a very long day.  The guys headed back to town to the local Costa Rican style rustic "7-11" and returned with cold bottled water, a couple of 6 packs and the freshest, sweetest bunch of plantains...life is good again :)  We all passed out by 9:30... and the journey continues...
