Day 3 - Zip lines, repelling, horses on fastforward, hanging bridges oh my...

Getting ready to Zip!

Lee Zipping
The cabelling for the zipline platform - aye!

Dree repelling 150 feet down the rainforest wall

Before we knew that the horse ride was about speed... wahoo!

The volano, the clouds have lifted and we can see the top

On the 2 hour suspension bridge journey... amazing!

Today was an action packed day.  We started with an hour drive to La Fortuna to go ziplining.  It was amazing to zip through the rainforest from the tops of the trees.  Lee, Andrew, Heather, Josie and Mari repelled down 150 feet down a wall of the jungle (would you believe, Josie offered to go first!) and then the last part of the excursion was to return back on horses.  It was not a normal trail ride... it was an all out race to the top - everyone flew on their horses up a rocky path to their stable.  It was great seeing the smiles on the kids - it was quite  an adventurous day!  Lunch in town... the food here is nothing to write home about... lots of rice and beans with chicken and fried plantains - plantaines are our new favorite, they are so sweet!  The hanging bridges were amazing, hundreds of feet in the air within the trees of the rainforest.  My gosh we are blessed to experience all of this!  The dinner tonight was at a restaurant on the side of the road.  Rice, beans, plantains, and steak... it was phenominal - they call it "typical" dishes.  There are roaming dogs everywhere here, lots of chihuahua's.  Most roadside restaurants are attached to an apartment or house... when people show up to dine, the family comes out to serve and cook for the patrons - very interesting and admirable of the people here.  Day 4 brings white water rafting and who knows what else...until then...
